If the unit is unsafe for occupancy due to no utilities, fire, flood, structural damage, or any other items that Housing Authority of the County of Salt Lake (HACSL) determines to be an emergency (such as life threatening and safety issues), an emergency inspection will be scheduled as soon as possible, normally within one business day.
If the unit is determined to be a threat to the health and safety of the family, the corrective action must take place within 24 hours of the inspection. If action is not immediately taken, the Contract with HACSL will be cancelled.
- Utilities shut-off due to non-payment on behalf of either the family or the landlord
Here are some items that are considered emergency but are not limited to:
- No water; and/or potable water
- No hot water due to faulty water heater
- No heat due to furnace not properly working, or no utilities.
