The Financial Management & Home Ownership Program is offered to the 150 households on the Family Self-Sufficiency Program. These clients have expressed a desire and commitment to working towards economic self-sufficiency. The program provides a series of educational workshops on the various topics associated with Financial Management and the Home Ownership process. In order to best serve our clients, we have arranged for dinner to be provided and child care to be available free of charge at each workshop.
The Financial Management & Home Ownership Program makes financial and home ownership education accessible to low-income families through a series of workshops offered throughout the year. This helps families work towards and sustain self-sufficiency by providing them with a basic financial foundation such as how to budget, manage debt and improve credit, as well as home purchasing strategies and general information.
Beneficiaries of the program are low-income families living in HUD assisted housing owned and managed by the Housing Authority of the County of Salt Lake.
Housing Opportunities, Inc. is able to provide the Financial Management & Home Ownership Program free of charge through generous grants from Ally Bank, American Express, CIT Bank, Key Bank, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo Foundation, Wells Fargo Housing Foundation, and Zions Bank.
